Tour Ancient America

Letchworth State Park Big Bend
The Genesee River cuts a deep gorge for some 20 miles through central western New York. Almost vertical walls of the river gorge drop precipitously for about 600 feet down into the river, reminding one of the "banks" of Sidon where Nephites fought Lamanites. The entire area surrounding the river in this region consists of a spectacular wilderness preserve.

Lower Falls In Letchworth
The Genesee River forms three beautiful falls located in Letchworth State Park. Shown here are the lower falls. The Genesee River, from its headwaters in Pennsylvania, to its terminus at Lake Ontario, can be seen to cut through the heart of Book of Mormon lands. Careful study of its geographical location helps to identify many other important features of Book of Mormon geography.

Jamestown Area
This is a view of farming lands west of Jamestown, New York. This entire area is comprised of ridges of hills that form broad valleys, all of which make a good candidate for the heart of the Land of Nephi. The Allegheny River can be seen as a water-link that connected the ancient land of Nephi with the "head" of the river Sidon. Various Nephite cities are suggested to have existed along this waterway.

Lake Chautauqua
Shown here is Lake Chautauqua in early morning light. It is proposed that this large and beautiful lake lay in the ancient land of Nephi. Its waters would have afforded an excellent source of fish and water fowl and many Nephite cities may have once existed on its shores.

Three Waters at Cassadaga
Shown here is one of three tiny bodies of water, all interconnected by a channel, collectively can be seen as the "waters of Mormon." Fed by spring water (fountain), they are suggested for their location, south of a West Sea (Lake Erie) in an area once known to be inhabited by wild beasts (wolves, bears, and mountain lions), they make a very good candidate for the Waters of Mormon.
